Salvagers - when committed of crimes against New humanity, you are given a choice – be spaced, or become a Salvager. Salvagers are what we send into places 'we' as a society are trying to seize, five days before the military arrive – why waste troops when we can send those that owe a debt to society?

Some, those who lose all they hold dear, or feel they have failed society, come to us of their own volition – others however are taken forcibly for their actions against others. Sixty years, or more, of conditioning has made them reasonably obedient, but whether it holds is another matter entirely. And what they are briefed on, a simple mission to take an abandoned Station, soon becomes a fight for their lives – against what they find, and their own unit.
