Every year, I do an ‘annual’ break, called #Kaiatus. It usually starts May 1st and goes through till I get summoned back (it’s supposed to be Juneish, but I never get the whole month), but this year we put it off to celebrate a major anniversary (for the Indie Author Group, we’re a decade old!), so, in true ‘last minute’ fashion, I’ll be talking about my plans for Kaiatus on my first day (Saturday), our holiday plans and some stuff I can sorta reveal now.
A brief history…
#Kaiatus started, I guess, in 2015, trying to get everything lined up for the books I wanted to get finished. I think I got about two weeks into it, before I had to come back, but the books all came out, and things were all good.
2016-2019, I had similar experiences, and in 2020, I just didn’t want to deal with anything. By the April 2020, when we went into lockdown, I was exhausted and don’t know if I went formally, but I was off for a bit.
#Kaiatus 2021
This year, we’re going home at the beginning of #Kaiatus, to visit with family (lockdown lifting enough to allow us to do so in the UK, with safety measures, of course), then, I’ll be planning my new projects. I’m quite excited actually, I think I’ve got my third book for the Darkness PD series, and I’ve got a pile of covers coming back fairly soon, I think. All of that means announcements, plans and more.
And this will give a few hints of what else is coming, and what I want to talk about.
Headspace, my books and deep space, self-care, and planning. We’re testing out a couple of planners here, Artenapan (my daughter) and I.
And by July first, I’ll have plans to share to boot, if not before.
See you then?
